MGC Bonnet, with internal panel + captive nuts, Road Use

Application:    This Bonnet will fit all MGB and MGC models, it is a direct replacement panel for the original Bonnet.  

 

Captive Nuts:    At the rear there are two steel brackets for the hinges, at the front there is a 3/8” AF threaded plate to take the locking pin and three 5mm captive nuts bonded in to take the safety catch.

 

Durability:    This panel is manufactured for road use with two full layers of matting used for overall strength.  For extra durability, an additional layer of matting is applied on areas for the attachment points or where holes need to drilled.

 

Bolt Holes:    We don’t pre-drill any bolt holes, it is far better to line the panel up and drill the holes where needed, also any holes in the panel make it more fragile and susceptible to damage in transit.  Bolt holes are marked in the panel which can be used as a guide. Tip: drill elongated holes to give room for adjustment when fitting.

 

Fitting:        Transfer over all existing fitting attachments and fit as per the original Bonnet.

Paint Prep:    Firstly, sand the panel down roughly, then apply primer/filler – a rough sand down will ensure the primer/filler keys well.  Sand down again to a smooth finish and finally apply top coat, either Cellulose or Two Pack can be used.
